It's alive!

I'm still here! just been busy again, so here's some work I've done recently.
Getting in the mood for autumn, and with that comes Halloween!
I've always loved a good ghost story or horror movie, and am working round some short
animation ideas, with a horror theme.
These are initial drawings and some very rough storyboards!

They're only going to be 10 to 20 seconds long, and have a comedic tone. And they're going to involve classic horror characters like Frankenstein and Dracula.

Coastal Views

Scanned these images a few days ago, and completely forgot to upload. So here they are. Some coastal sketches, working round an idea.

Stupidly did watercolour straight onto paper rather than cartridge paper , so that's

why there's a buckling effect.

Started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the first time recently (and love it!), wish I'd watched it the first time round. Anyhow, it's got me thinking about all my favourite heroines, and I've decided to illustrate one a week.

Starting with Buffy Summers of course!

Got carried away, and have done Beatrix Kiddo aka. The Bride as well.

Some watercolour and pen drawings. Getting into my mythology this week, always loved Greek myths, so this is what happened when I tried drawing some water nymphs or sirens, just some evil ladies I think.
Expect more in the future!

Long time no see!

Haven't updated my blog for a while, whoops! Been super busy, but will try to keep updating regularly again.
Felt like doing some sketching today, so got in some practice drawing the human face, haven't done any observational drawing for a little while.

animation test

Messing around with animating in photoshop for the first time, just a quick facial movement using Frozen's Anna as the character. Bit of a blink and your miss it, but going to try some longer pieces when I have the chance.

Decided to get into painting again, seeing as I haven't really done any since college. This is a quick painting sketch of Portchester castle. Its a bit 'blobby' in some parts but i'm pretty happy with this little experiment.

New Forest sketch

Having scanner problems at the moment, so decided to do some sketches directly in photoshop.
I normally sketch out on paper first, so was nice to get straight into it. This is a colour sketch from a walk out in the new forest, enjoying the summer sunshine.

I've sketched out the next part of my comic, so hopefully that'll be uploaded by the end of this week too.

Oberyn Martell

Still recovering from the shock of the last Game of Thrones episode! So decided to do a drawing of the best short lived Game of Thrones character.

Part 1

So finally got round to posting the first part of my comic. It's taken me longer than I expected to ink it all, but these are the first 5 pages. I hope to post a new page each week, until I run out of story to tell!

I love fairytales, fantasy and horror and this is a bit of a mixture of all of these. Don't know how this will all turn out, but it's a good experiment, practicing my storytelling skills and getting better in photoshop (hopefully!), plus it's fun to do :)
